BEARA WALKING TOUR IRELAND - 5-DAY GENTLE 
DAY 1: Transfer to Castletownbere Your Beara walk starts in Castletownbere – the principal town on the Beara Peninsula and the largest whitefish port in the country. DAY 2: Castletownbere to Allihies• Distance 15km • 3.5 - 5 hours • Max Height 323m Walk along old country roads that take you up into the Slieve Mishkish Mountains, through some forestry and then onwards towards the summit of Knockgour before descending past an old disused copper mine and into the attractive village of Allihies on the Atlantic Coast. DAY 3: Allihies to Dursey Sound • Distance 13km • 3 - 5 hours • Max Height 191m A short walk in truly spectacular surroundings that takes you right out to the tail end of the Beara Peninsula. After passing the disused copper mines outside Allihies village you climb up over the cliffs at Ballydonegan Bay and onwards towards Lackacroghan. DAY 4: Dursey Island • Distance 15km • 3.5 - 5 hours • Max Height 245m With just 6 permanent residents, little motorised traffic, breathtaking ocean scenery in all directions and abundant wildlife, Dursey Island is about as close as you can get to a walkers paradise. DAY 5: Depart Castletownbere A free taxi transfer back to Castletownbere the previous evening means you will have plenty of time to catch the early morning bus back to Cork if you so wish. From Cork, there are regular connections to Cork, Shannon and Dublin Airports.
