BEARA WALKING TOUR IRELAND - 6-DAY GENTLE 
DAY 1: Transfer to Castletownbere Your Beara walk starts in Castletownbere – the principal town on the Peninsula and Ireland's largest whitefish port. DAY 2: Bere Island • Distance 14/24km • 3 - 4 hours/5 - 7 hours • Max Height 256m A short 15 minute ferry ride across the sheltered harbour will take you to Bere Island. There are two loops on the island - you choose how far you wish to walk.
DAY 3: Castletownbere to Allihies• Distance 15km • 3.5 - 5 hours • Max Height 323m Walk along old country roads that take you through some forestry and then up into the Slieve Mishkish Mountains before descending past an old disused copper mine into the brightly-cloured village of Allihies. DAY 4: Allihies to Dursey Sound • Distance 13km • 3 - 5 hours • Max Height 191m A short walk in truly spectacular surroundings that takes you right out to the tail end of the Beara Peninsula where the Atlantic Ocean pounds the coastline. DAY 5: Dursey Island • Distance 15km • 3.5 - 5 hours • Max Height 245m With just 6 permanent residents, little motorised traffic and abundant wildlife, Dursey Island is a walkers paradise. Free taxi transfer back to Castletownbere in the evening. DAY 6: Depart Castletownbere Daily bus service from Castletownbere to Cork city. From Cork city, there are regular connections to Shannon, Cork and Dublin Airports.
