Hill Walking in Beara - 8-Day - Guided  DAY 1: Transfer to Glengarriff You will be collected from Cork Airport (pickup 2.30pm) or Cork City (pickup 3.30pm) and brought to Glengarriff – a picturesque little town in the foothills of the Caha Mountains. Day 2: Bunane to Glengarriff • Distance 13km • 3.5 - 5 hours • Max Height 356m Start your day with a climb up an old sheep track towards a pass next to Esk Mountain before descending into the wonderful Glengarriff Forest Park. DAY 3: Glengarriff to Adrigole • Distance 18km • 5 - 7 hours • Max Height 544m A peaceful forest path leads you up towards the summit of Sugarloaf Mountain. From the top enjoy the spectacular views over Bantry Bay and across to the Sheeps Head Peninsula. Day 4: Gleninchaquin to Lauragh • Distance 19km • 4.5 - 6 hours • Max Height 379m Gleninchaquin Valley is the jewel in the crown of the Beara Peninsula. You will visit the most beautiful part of the valley before climbing up a mountain and returning to Lauragh. 
DAY 5: Allihies to Dursey Sound • Distance 13km • 3 - 5 hours • Max Height 191m A short walk in stunning surroundings starts with a visit to the old copper mines in Allihies. From here you climb up over the cliffs at Ballydonegan Bay and continue to Dursey. DAY 6: Dursey Island • Distance 15km • 3.5 - 5 hours • Max Height 245m With just 6 permanent residents, little traffic, breathtaking ocean scenery and abundant wildlife, Dursey Island is about as close as you can get to a walkers paradise. Enjoy! DAY 7: Bere Island • Distance 16km • 3 - 5 hours • Max Height 256m A short 15 minute ferry ride across the sheltered harbour will take you to Bere Island - a place with a long and interesting history. A fascinating way to finish your walking holiday. DAY 8: Depart Castletownbere Transfer to Cork City and Cork Airport leaves at 8am. From Cork, there are regular connections to Shannon and Dublin Airports.
