The West of Ireland is full of fun things to do. So, if you want a break from walking, we are happy to organise an extra night's accommodation for you anywhere along the route.

Here is a selection of some great idea's for a free day in the wild West! 

Spend an extra night in the West of Ireland if you like...

1. Peace & Quiet: Probably the prettiest village in Ireland, Leenane in Connemara is the perfect place to just relax and do nothing. Or take a trip to the majestic Ballintubber Abbey near Westport.

2. Action & Adventure: But, if you want more excitement, Leenane has plenty of that too with local adventure centres offering everything from kayaking and surfing to abseiling and bungee jumping!

3. Fishing: Lough Corrib near Oughterard is renowned the world over as an ideal spot for trout fishing. If you like, we can organise a small boat for you to spend a peaceful day on the lake.

4. Traditional Music & Irish Pubs: The Aran Islands and Westport are well-known strongholds of Irish music. You never have to go too far to hear the the beat of a bodhrán and the merry tune of an Irish fiddle.
