WICKLOW WALKING TOUR IRELAND - 7-DAY CHALLENGING

DAY 1: Transfer to Bunclody
From your point of arrival, use the public transport information we provide to make the journey to Bunclody.
DAY 2: Clonegal to Tinahely • Distance 32km • Walking Time 8 – 10 hours • Max Height 350m
A long first days walking mainly along remote country roads through rolling hills and quiet woodlands. After passing Shillelagh, famous for giving its name to the quintessential Irish fighting stick, you head into Muskeagh Woods before an old boreen takes you down to your accommodation outside Tinahely.
DAY 3: Tinahely to Iron Bridge • Distance 20.5km • Walking Time 4.5 – 6 hours •Max Height 390m
Starting off on a grass track around Coolafunshoge Mountain, the route skirts the tiny village of Moyne before heading into dense woodland aroundBallygobban Mountain. A descent into the Ow River Valley brings you down to Iron Bridge.
DAY 4: Iron Bridge to Laragh • Distance 28.5km (30.5km via Spink) • Walking Time 6 – 7.5 hours • Max Height 600m
The trail now climbs steeply upwards to Borenacrow Saddle. The scenery here is stunning in all directions. From the saddle, you can choose to descend into Glendalough either along the Wicklow Way or to take the longer, but arguably more beautiful route via the Spink.
DAY 5: Laragh to Enniskerry • Distance 26km (29 km via Scarr) • Walking Time 5.5 – 7 hours • Max Height 641m
After crossing the Glenmacnass River you make your way up Paddock Hill then down into Oldbridge. If the weather is good, take the opportunity to climb Scarr Mountain (641m). Another short climb takes you past Powerscourt Waterfall on your right before you head down into Crone Woods.
DAY 6: Enniskerry to Marlay Park • Distance 22km • Walking Time 5 – 6.5 hours • Max Height 488m
After passing around the side of Knockree Hill, you climb up and over the shoulder of a mountain known as Prince William's Seat. Take a last look back at the Wicklow Mountains before your tour ends on a lovely trail through Marlay Park.
Day 7: Depart from Marlay Park
There are regular buses to both Dublin City Centre and Dublin Airport. Your host will provide you with all the necessary details.
